Jonah (2012-2017)
video still from multi channel video
"In 2012 Hadassa Goldvicht created a “living space” inside a giant sculpture of a whale, where she, her spouse, and their two
daughters went about the routine of daily life. This video piece captures a small slice of three years’ of staging and documentation,
alluding to the prophet Jonah's three-day sojourn inside a whale seated in a cave-like space.
In this work Goldvicht raises questions about the complex relationship between real life, miraculous stories, and art, blurring the
boundaries between them."
